Mbaise, Nigeria-12/31/10: The Eze Cletus and Ugoeze Dorothy Oparaoji Memorial Educational Foundation (ECUDOMEF) in Amuzi, Ahiazu Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria, has again rolled out six scholarships for six deserving sons and daughters of Amuzi, to help them pay for their West African Examination Certificate (WAEC) and Joint Administration and Matriculations Board (JAMB) examinations. The late Ezes’ first son, Professor Edward Oparaoji stated that the occasion is marked every December 31st, usually at the Ezes’memorial mass following a keenly contested scholarship examination by students in SS3 (students preparing for College entry). Mrs Amaka Oparaoji, the sister-in-law of the founder and a board of trustee (BoT) member, thanked God for the life of her parents-in-law and urged the students to reciprocate the gesture by passing the proposed exams. The picture above shows Mrs. Nwamaka Oparaoji presenting award checks to scholarship recipients.
Professor C.O.E Onwuliri (seen on the podium in this picture ) in his own address advised the students on effective studying and passing of examaminations. The parish priest, Rev Fr. Augustine Ibezimako, while praying for the repose of the dead, commended the Oparaoji family and the ECUDOMEF board, chaired and co-chaired by Professor C.O.E. Onwuliri and Prof. (Mrs) Viola Onwuliri, for its consistency and setting the pace for other scholarship awards in the community. Since inception, over two hundred and forty students have been awarded scholarships. Click here for the list of Some ecudomef recipients
